Message in a bottle

After reading the book consider the plot,characters and the message.

1.Does message in a bottle provide enough information to ban alcohol from everybody?

or

2.Should alcohol be banned for everybody?

  2. For drugs I personally think that drugs should be banned from the city streets, but they should still be used for medical purposes.
    such as:
    Cannabis(more commonly used as marijuana)
    Anabolic Steroids etc.....

  3. I found many more medicinal drugs on this site:

  6. true, Zaki... but medicinal drugs can treat patients with life threatening problems such as depression.

    eg; if u had a deadly viral infection that could be easily treated by medicinal drugs, would you and your moral not take the drugs?

  11. But many teenagers take drugs, and if they have the freedom to take drugs, many more would take them.

    Freedom + drugs + death= loss of population= bad future

    In some cases freedom is a bad thing!

  12. I think it is a good story but i think drugs should be banned except for medical reasons, and it is ok to have 1 or 2 drinks at a party or a friends house to celebrate something.

  15. If alcohol was banned most people think that there would be less accidents and alcohol related deaths. But it might get worse and create it's own probelems for example,during Prohibition, in 1919 to 1933, during which the sale, manufacture, and transportation of alcohol for consumption were banned nationally in the USA. There was more crime and people would illegally make their own alcohol and sell it.

  16. At first i found it confusing that some drugs kill people and others save peoples lives. But now i understand abit more and i realise that some drugs have different affects and if they are used incorectly they can be harmfull.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I guess that you could have 1 or 2 drinks but not to many.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Yes, but 1 or 2 drinks lead to 3 or 4 drinks and that leads to even more. And it would be hard to only have 1 or 2 because it is addicting and if all your friends were drinking you might get peer pressure to drink more you might also get peer pressure to drink by friends but you need to know how to say NO. Alcohol also takes over your body and you become addicted and want more. alcohol

  19. Alcohol kills about 100,000 people per year in Australia

  20. I think message in a bottle doesn't provide enough imformation because some people might ignore the message

    ReplyDelete
  21. If alcohol was banned, it would go on the black market. If it was to go on the black market it would be expensive. If it was expensive then some people might spend all of there savings for just a couple of bottles. If a legal limit on all occasions was to be made, there would probably be less people drinking enough alcohol to do themselves damage.

    ReplyDelete
  22. As I said before it would be expensive, but it would also be illegal. (I forgot to add that buying something on the black market is illegal)

  23. i like the story very much and i think that alcholol should be banned from every one because its very bad for you and i know what it can do to you because i have seen it in my own family and it makes you very cranky when you drink to much

    ReplyDelete
  24. The story is really good but doesn't have enough information to stop drinking without control!

  25. The book is great but i think that it could have a bit more infomation on what could happen if you get drunk.

  27. I loved the book! I think it was very funny but at the end it didn't really get to the point. Plus it ended with everyone being happy when in real life that kind of thing wouldn't stop people from drinking alcohol.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I think that alcohol should only banned in areas where there is lots of violance at night. most fights occur when there is alcohol.

  29. I think that the book was great. I recon that alcohol should be banned incept for medichal reasons. It causes accidents and more. From the age 14 to 17 1 Australian kid dies in a week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  31. I think the book was good but also agree with Mollie because it sort of loses the point and evryone ends up happy, in the real world it would be a lot harder to get eveyrone aware. As Mclean said'NEVER TAKE ACHOLOL IT WILL KILL YOU'.

  32. I think message in a bottle probieds enough iformation on achol but not as much on drugs

  33. Well i think Alcohol should be banned from everyone because quickly it is destroying the world...But i dont think Message in a bottle provides enough information because it mainly starts to get off the point at the end...Mostly Teenagers are being killed by the drug named Alcohol...Yes i said DRUG!..Yes i did!.I said i did!...By the way Maria i think you forgot what Alcohol is...ITS A DRUG

  37. i think alcohol shouldn't be banned all together i think it should be raised to the age 21 or 24 when they are more mature because that would be unfair for the people that are sensible with alcohol

    but that is just my opinion

    i acendently put this coment in the other question sorry

  40. Alcohol is a drug used for many things...Such as if you get cut on your hand or leg..You slap the Alcohol on with a cotton ball/tisshu and walla!Its disinvected!..And your like YAY but..I just took in Alcohol...So i think alcohol should only be used in hospitals.

    Children sometimes take alcohol from the age 7-10..Very suprising aye?...But why would kids take alcohol?..Well children take alcohol because they are convinced too...For example comon 1 drink wont hurt..Fine only one!...Then fine only another one!...This will be my last one!...Thats 3 drinks!..Those three drinks will efect him/her very quickly...Because it starts to create a sleeply motion..Than boom!...Oh my god i cant contrentrate!...Then you sit in your car.....And you feel very dizzy...Then you start driving at the speed of 85!...Boom dead!..

    Remember this people...Rest or Rest in Peace! (RIP)

  43. Ahmed if Alcohol was banned it would be on the black market...

    it would be sold for prices from $100 to $2000 for a average bottle of wine (eg. yellow)

    Alcohol should not be banned there should be a limit of 1-3 beers every 8 hours because by then the effect of the alcohol would of worn off.

  44. After reading the book i think that alcohol should be limited because one drink can lead to two drinks and then lead to three or four but i guess if you're sensible you would steer clear of it altogether.

  45. jessica and i think that the book was good and it convinced us not to take alcohol and drugs in the future. Alcohol affects all of us even if we only have 1 drink. It's addictive and it can give you cancer.

  52. I THINK KIDS TEENS AND ADULTS SHOULD HAVE THE FREEDOM TO DO WHAT THEY WANT ITS THEIR OWN FAULT IF THEY DIE

    THE STORY WILL NOT CONVINCE ANYONE TO STOP OR EVEN MAKE PEOPLE THINK ABOUT WHAT THEY'RE DOING ILL BET HALF THE PEOPLE IN 60 HAVE HAD A SIP OF BEER

  53. 1 TEEN BETWEEN 14-17 DIES A WEEK THAT'S 4 A MONTH AND 52 KIDS A YEAR

  54. Intoxication is the most common cause of alcohol-related problems, leading to injuries and premature deaths. As a result, intoxication accounts for two-thirds of the years of life lost from drinking. Alcohol is responsible for:

    * 30% of road accidents
    * 44% of fire injuries
    * 34% of falls and drownings
    * 16% of child abuse cases
    * 12% of suicides
    * 10% of industrial accidents

    As well as deaths, short-term effects of alcohol result in illness and loss of work productivity (e.g. hangovers, drink driving offences). In addition, alcohol contributes to criminal behaviour - in Australia over 70% of prisoners convicted of violent assaults have drunk alcohol before committing the offence and more than 40% of domestic violence incidents involve alcohol.

  55. I agree with the first paragraph of jacks comment
    (I THINK KIDS TEENS AND ADULTS SHOULD HAVE THE FREEDOM TO DO WHAT THEY WANT ITS THEIR OWN FAULT IF THEY DIE) but sometimes people need help and should not have the freedom to kill themselves.

    Kieran

  56. But woulden't you just ban Alcohol from them instead of them letting them kill themselves?
    People will go crazy if Alcohol was ban.

    So i recomend that Alcohol so be sold rarely...Because the less it is sold less people buy it...

    And if Alcohol is not sold like that than
    there should be a law.The law is that the sellers of alcohol shouldn't sell more than a little amount of alcohol to buyers.
